Search & Recovery Diver
Description:
Help recover lost items. Learn effective underwater search techniques and how to use a lift bag.
Prerequisites:
- Advanced Open Water or Certified Open Water and Underwater Navigator
Required Gear:
- Basic scuba gear
- Appropriate Thermal Protection
- Scuba Compass
- Underwater Writing Slate and Pencil
- Lift Bag
- Reel
- Knife/Cutting Tool
Please NOTE - This course requires additional travel expenses. Dive Georgia will provide all cylinders, park entries, instructor fees, and air fills.
You are responsible for transportation, lodging, and meals.
You must be on site Saturday AM, so we highly recommend arriving Friday afternoon.

During four dives, you'll locate objects large and small using different search patterns. You’ll get hands-on experience using a lift bag and, on the last dive, you’ll plan and execute a mock search operation.
- Total time commitment: 2-3 days (dives must be completed over two days minimum)
